Today in Moto's Kitchen we are making a summer staple dish: Hiyashi Chuka! Hiyashi Chuka is a cold ramen noodle dish in a dipping sauce-like base. It is a lot healthier than traditional ramen and perfect to eat on a hot summer day. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Noodles (you may use lo mein noodles, instant noodles, or raw noodles.)
Tahini
Soy sauce
Vinegar
Water
Salt
Sugar
Sesame Oil
Your favorite toppings (tomatoes, ham, cucumber, eggs, etc.)
Hiyashi Chuka sauce:
Add 3 tablespoons of tahini. To that, add ¼ cup of soy sauce, vinegar (preferably rice vinegar), and water. Mix well. Add a little bit of salt and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Pour in a little bit of sesame oil. Now the sauce is complete!
Preparation:
When the water has boiled, add your noodles and cook for three minutes (or however long the packet instructs you to.) After the three minutes are up, drain your noodles and wash them in cold water so it stops the cooking process. Chop up your toppings into think slices or whatever sizes you desire.
Serving:
On a plate, put your noodles on top. Once you put your noodle you may add your toppings however you’d like. It’s all up to you! Add however much sauce you would like, and you’re done. Enjoy!
Tip: Tahini solidifies when you add liquid to it. Make sure you mix it well!
