For the Goal 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, JAXA's Earth observation satellites contribute to infrastructure monitoring. Advanced Land Observing Satellite-2 (ALOS-2) can observe small change of structures (using time series InSAR technology). Most of social infrastructures are managed by local governments, but the number of staffs in the civil engineering departments is decreasing. However, the time and trouble of deterioration detection can be saved, because the observation data is efficient to extract inspection points that need repairing.
