For the Goal 2 “Zero Hunger”, JAXA’s Earth observation satellites including Global Change Observation Mission (GCOM) series, the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission, Advanced Land Observing Satellite-2 (ALOS-2) contribute to ensuring of global food security. Precipitation, soil moisture, solar radiation amount and surface temperatures observed by the satellites are used for grasping food production situation globally, and are expected to be used for international support and for agricultural policies in each country.
