The revised Toyota GR Yaris has arrived in the UK.

The mega-hatch/rally rep/small sportster is a car Toyota expected to sell in too small a number to revisit, but owing to its surprise popularity, here's a new version. What are we calling it? The Gen 2? The evolution? The Yaris .2?

Whatever, changes to it are largely focused on making the GR more durable when driven hard: so there’s better cooling, and revised engine and gearbox internals, plus now an auto option.

Toyota has taken the opportunity to raise power and torque, too, to 276bhp (from 256bhp) and 288lb ft (from 266lb ft). The suspension has been stiffened - particularly at the front.

We know it's still great on a track, but what do the changes mean for its performance as a road car in the UK? Join Matt Prior as he takes to British tarmac to find out.
