JAXA has been developing airframe noise reduction technology to reduce noise around airports, and conducted a series of flight demonstration tests using its jet research aircraft “Hisho” from 2016 to 2017 as part of the FQUROH project (2013-2019). To phase up the FQUROH project to the next level, JAXA is working on the airframe noise reduction technology for application in the medium-size passenger aircraft.
