(字幕あり) 5 months ago I started working at a restaurant in Tokyo and this video is to talk about working ^^ THERES NO TIPS IN JAPAN. (sorry ppl keep asking ^^)
AREAS OF A RESTAURANT
hall staff (deals with customers)
Washing dishes - araiba 洗い場
kitchen - kicchin キッチン
bar -baa バー
cash register - reji レジ
PAY
There are min wadge ones but I make more than 10$ a hour.
Good average pay to look for is 10-14$
WHEN YOU GET PAID
in Japan its normal to be paid once a month
BUT I intentionally searched for 日払い hibarai which means I am paid everyday in the bank.
KEIGO/ Polite Japanese
YES when you speak to customers
and YES when you speak to boss and those above
no keigo - kubi (fired)
Get yelled at when break something??
no, its a restaurant and this stuff happens. as long as you are careful it shouldnt happen often. If it happend often your boss may get angry. You will learn to hold dishes and carry stuff without breaking or dropping but even the pros can make a mistake.
THEY FEED ME!!
makanai is the word for when a company makes food for you and feeds you after or before your shift. Its amazing. Some jobs make you pay a small fee for food but mine its made free for us. Its so good!!!
