Today we’ll introduce some of the most common 10-second small talk phrases you can use in various places. This time, we'll look at casual small talk.

Let’s say you, タケシ(Takeshi), just ran into your close friend, ケン(Ken) in an elevator at school. The conversation usually goes like this.

あ、ケン。おはよう。 A, Ken. Ohayou.
おはよう。 Ohayou.
どう、元気(げんき)？ Dou, genki?
うん。タケシは？ Un. Takeshi wa?
うん。Un.

じゃ、またね。Ja, matane.
じゃあね。Jaane.
