平成２９年度米国等における米海兵隊との実動訓練（アイアンフィスト１８）

平成２９年度米国等における米海兵隊との実動訓練（アイアンフィスト１８）について
平成３０年１月８日（月）から２月１８日（日）の間、米国カリフォルニア州キャンプ・ペンデルトン及びサンクレメンテ島において「平成２９年度米国等における米海兵隊との実動訓練（アイアンフィスト１８）」を実施しました。
本訓練に、陸上自衛隊から西部方面総監部、西部方面普通科連隊、水陸機動準備隊等（約３６０名）が、米海兵隊から第１海兵機動展開部隊第１１海兵機動展開隊等（約２５０名）が参加しました。
本訓練の特色は、水陸機動団新編前の総合的な訓練として、水陸機動団を編成する各職種の要員をもって訓練部隊を編成し、諸職種協同による戦闘力の発揮要領を訓練することであり、陸自隊員が操縦するＡＡＶ７とそれに連携する普通科部隊をはじめとした諸職種の部隊による訓練を実施したことです。
本訓練を通じ、島嶼部での作戦に必要な戦術・戦闘、米軍との相互連携要領を実行動により演練し、その能力を向上させることができました。
JFY2017 Field Training Exercise with the USMC conducted in the USA (Iron Fist 2018)
The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) participated in the Exercise Iron Fist 2018, a bilateral field training exercise with the US Marine Corps, which took place in Camp Pendleton and San Clemente Island, California, Jan. 8 to Feb. 18, 2018.
Approx. 360 JGSDF personnel from the Western Army Headquarters , the Western Army Infantry Regiment, the Amphibious Rapid Deployment Preparatory Unit, and approx. 250 Marines from the USMC’s 1st Marine Expeditionary Force 11th Expeditionary Unit participated in the exercise.
The exercise was unique in that it was a comprehensive exercise conducted ahead of the establishment of the Amphibious Readiness Deployment Brigade (ARDB), the exercise unit consisted a team of professionals forming the ARDB, and provided units an opportunity to practice procedures to demonstrate combat power through collaboration across professions. As such, training was conducted between JGSDF AAV-7 operators and other professions, such as the Infantry Regiment.
Through the Exercise, the JGSDF practiced combat maneuvers/techniques necessary for island operations and mutual cooperation procedures with the U.S. Forces, hence enhancing its capabilities.
