Tohoku Defense Bureau hosted “The 4th Misawa Ice Hockey Exhibition 2016” as part of the Japan-U.S. Exchange Program for those who live in Misawa City and around the Misawa Air Base to interact with each other.
Japanese and American children wearing rubber boots/snow boots and garlic shaped helmet competed by shooting pucks shaped as hokki clam with sticks shaped as yam in manner of ice hockey. Garlic, hokki clam and yam are all specialty products of Misawa City.
