About this painting:
I’ve wanted to redraw this old sketch of mine for a while and I thought this was the perfect time to do so! The emotion I’m trying to reflect is Happiness. Since I’ve felt much loneliness and anxiety I’ve learnt to try finding joy in even the smallest things, like taking a walk a sunny autumn day or finding that lost favourite book that you thought were gone forever or sitting down listening to music and drawing. One of those small things (that isn’t that small) is to be around my cats. It may not seem like a big deal to some but to me it means the world. They make me smile and laugh everyday, and they never judge me (it may be a huge cliché but it’s true! Some people can be so judging and I’m so tired of it)
To bring this happy feeling to the painting I used bright colors and rounded and soft lines, and lots of swirls because for some reason I think of swirls when I think of happiness (it feels light and fluffy and vivid)
I don’t really know how to put words on it (that probably why show my creativity through drawing and not writing haha) but I hope the painting can speak for it self!
I would love to win this brush set, because I really want to become better at painting and develop my style even more and I could really need some good quality brushes (those I have are so old they are falling apart).
