Mazda's MX-5 is a terrific sports car in its own right. It's compact, light, and great fun. But it can feel underpowered, so here is one alternative.
UK-based tuner BBR GTi offers a turbo upgrade for the 1.5-litre MX-5, increasing the power to 210bhp and the torque to 197lb ft.
The car still revs to 7000rpm and combined with upgraded brakes and suspension, the BBR GTi Mazda MX-5 1.5 promised to be a more potent, more focused little sports car. But is it as good as, say, a Toyota GT86? We head to some of Britain's best B-roads to find out.
