The Jensen Interceptor is back.

Jensen International, British restomodder of early Jensens and classic Range Rovers, is to launch this all-new Interceptor, having recently acquired the UK trademark for the legendary name.

This first prototype, the Interceptor GTX, is a track-going two-door coupe with an aluminium chassis and body.

It is front-engined, rear-driven via a six-speed sequential transaxle 'box and powered by a tuned GM LS-based 6.8-litre supercharged V8 (only 20% of the original engine remains).

It produces 900bhp here but could be tuned up to 1200bhp later. Kindly, they fire it up for us.

Following up the GTX will be more road-focused Interceptors - the GTR and GT - which will not only have four seats, but four doors.

No pricing for road cars yet, but if you wanted a car to this specification, it'd cost somewhere between £850,000-£950,000.

This prototype is now set for six months of testing while Jensen gauges reaction to the car. ""We're flexible," the company says. "What does the world want from a Jensen?"
