The Vauxhall Astra VXR Extreme is likely to enter low-volume production if its reception at the Geneva motor show next week is positive. If the car gets the green light for production, it will become the most powerful front-wheel-drive car in Vauxhall's history. The VXR Exteme develops "over 296bhp" from its 2.0-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine. The powerplant, which also features variable cam phasing, drives through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
