There are *so many* amazing options when eating out in Japan, but if you're visiting for the first time, too many options can seem a little overwhelming - Where do you start? In one of Tokyo's busiest and most bustling districts, Shinjuku, you can pop into station-adjacent shopping centers like Takashimaya and find many iconic traditional Japanese dishes under one roof.

These restaurants actually have their original locations stationed all around Tokyo (Akasaka, Ningyocho, Tsukiji) but on Takashimaya's restaurant floors, you don't need to travel to various regions of Tokyo to find them.

While you don't have to try everything in this video, if you see something you like, these are experiences in a relaxed elevated atmosphere above the busy (and puzzling) Shinjuku station that are the best of their breed. You can find soba around Shinjuku station, for example, but Takashimaya's 100% buckwheat soba is gluten-free and made without additives. You can get sushi around Tokyo as well. but your experience can differ greatly depending on where you go.

For safe, delicious options, Takashimaya has your back. If you plan to visit elsewhere, then hopefully just learning about these dishes will give you inspiration for your own travel itinerary as well!
