Making Tokyo the Most Business-Friendly City in the World
The 2015 Mori Memorial Foundation Global Power Index ranked Tokyo as the number one city in Asia, and number four in the world, following London, New York and Paris. Economically it accounts for 20 percent of Japan’s national GDP, and with a GDP greater than that of its nearest rivals Hong Kong and Singapore, it is regarded as the No.1 city in Asia for investment.
So what changes are happening in Tokyo in the lead up to Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and what long-term plans are in store for after the flame goes out on the world’s premier sporting event? Tokyo Governor Yoichi Masuzoe, who will make his first official visit to NYC, will deliver a presentation on Tokyo’s commitment to making Tokyo the most business-friendly city in the world. In this presentation, he will introduce the current situation in Tokyo and why there has never been a better time for multi-national companies to invest in the city. He will also discuss the approaching Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Tokyo’s long-term sustainability goals.
Speaker:
The Honorable Yoichi Masuzoe, Governor of Tokyo
Presider:
Wilbur L. Ross, Jr., Chairman & Chief Strategy Officer, WL Ross & Co., LLC; Chairman, Japan Society
