The H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 25 with the Geostationary Meteorological Satellite “Himawari-8” onboard was launched from the Tanegashima Space Center on October 7, 2014. This video footage looks back on the assembly to launch of the Himawari-8's assembly to launch until its separation from the launch vehicle. The Himawari-8 is a next generation meteorological satellite with the world’s highest standard of observation performance.
It also introduces the Japan’s first private satellite operation method
by the Private Finance Initiative.
