イプシロンSロケットに関する基本協定締結式 Signing Ceremony of the Basic Agreement of the Epsilon S Launch Vehicle

2020年6月11日、国立研究開発法人宇宙航空研究開発機構（JAXA）は、株式会社IHIエアロスペース社と「イプシロンSロケットの開発及び打上げ輸送サービス事業の実施に関する基本協定」を締結しました。

イプシロンSロケット開発は、現行のイプシロンロケットをより進化させ、国際競争力を強化するプロジェクトです。開発完了後にはイプシロンロケットをJAXAから民間事業者であるIHIエアロスペース社に移管し、打上げ輸送サービス事業を主体的に展開して、世界で需要が拡大している小型衛星の打上げ市場に本格的に参入していきます。

On June 11, 2020, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd. signed a "Basic Agreement on the development of the Epsilon S rocket and the implementation of the launch service business".

The Epsilon S rocket development would advance the current Epsilon rocket and strengthen its international competitiveness. Following the completion of its development phase, the Epsilon launch vehicle will be then transferred from JAXA to the private business operator (IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd.) so that the private entity would independently conduct the launch service business and actively join the expanding global small satellites launch market.
